John and Kate invited us into their home to share in a very special time in their lives. They were expecting not one, but two additions to their family: twin baby girls, due any day! Prior to our meeting, we talked at length about the perfect location for this shoot, and every idea we came up with felt not-quite-right. Finally, we decided there was no better place for the occasion than the home in which they had so lovingly crafted a life together; the place their two little angels would be coming home to very soon.

Thank goodness for that decision! John and Kate's home was perfect for our session: a tastefully-appointed oasis where every nook and cranny housed special, beautiful details that were a testament to their love for one another. Of all the places in their home, the nursery was by far our favorite. Already set up to welcome the little ones in, and replete with thoughtful, magical things such as the little knitted elephant they'd picked up, long ago, on a trip to Paris, in anticipation of this very moment.

And we simply couldn't help falling head over heels for their gorgeous cat, Ella, whose piercing gold eyes followed our every move curiously. It was completely heartwarming to see the happy couple so filled with hope and anticipation. Watching John's eyes light up as he talked to his unborn daughters was one of the most moving and spectacular experiences we have ever had as photographers.
